As the central villain of the ThunderCats universe, Mumm-Ra’s 1985 LJN figure delivered everything an ‘80s kid could want in a bad guy—musclebound menace, glowing red eyes, and dark sorcery sculpted in plastic. Towering at 7 inches and featuring menacing face detail and “Battle-Matic Action,” Mumm-Ra stood as a true visual counterpoint to the heroic Lion-O. His light-up eye feature and ornate headdress added theatrical flair, cementing him as a flagship villain whose presence loomed large in both cartoon and toy aisle lore.

Mumm-Ra’s figure is notorious for missing pieces—especially the Power Ring and silver dagger. The figure has several subtle variants, including different skirt hues and dagger blade colors. The light-up eyes gimmick only functions when paired with a working Power Ring and battery, making complete, functioning examples tough to find. The red headdress is also frequently lost or warped, and some early releases included a PVC Ravage claw figure with either white or black claws.
